Tangled Art + Disability Response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Tangled staff has been closely monitoring the global developments regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and after careful consideration, we have decided to cancel the Opening Reception for Thaumaturgy scheduled for tonight, March 13 from 6:00-8:00 pm.

We made this decision as we do all sensitive decisions at Tangled: with care, and together as a community.

We are an organization made up of folks who care deeply for one another; we prioritize the wellbeing of ourselves and our greater community. We will always prioritize the needs of Deaf, Mad, and Disability identified folks, and understand the precarity many of our community members are facing at this time, while also acknowledging the power of community in times like this.

At this moment, the gallery will stay open and host regular hours. We plan to host a digital welcome tour of the exhibition, with details to come. A decision regarding other scheduled events, including the Artist Talk hosted by Charles Street Video, screening with Images Festival and Closing Reception, have yet to be announced. For the most up to date communication, please connect with us on Facebook and Twitter.

We want to emphasize that the public programming we do is only a small part of who we are as an organization. At our core, we are a group of people who have a calling to care, and do so deeply. In keeping with this, we will strive to make ourselves available to our community at this time.

You can contact any of our staff members at their emails listed below if you are in need of support during this time. This support can range from needing assistance picking up groceries, coordinating child care, a friend to speak to, or even just for a random kitten gif. While we cannot guarantee we can fulfill every request, we can guarantee that we will do the very best that we can.
