“Trauma exists within the body
unspeakable. Yet violence and trauma,
these shamed and silenced experiences,
are paraded like a circus, a spectacle,
across hospitals and courtrooms
and they poured relentlessly from my alcohol loosened lips.”
Clementine Morrigan’s film Ressurrection is an exploration of trauma, addiction and recovery. It juxtaposes the intimate with the public by combining images of city streets and Morrigan’s own body. Her poetry guides is through her experience of being reborn.
